JR West: Kisei Main Line

JR West's Series 283 Ocean Arrow limited express running on Kisei main line between Susami and Mirozu stations in Wakayama Prefecture. The 384-km Kisei main line runs mostly on the Pacific coast from Kameyama to Wakayama and links local cities, fishing ports, and hot-spring resorts on the Kii Peninsula with Osaka and Nagoya. The electrified western half of the line from Shingu is run by JR West, while the non-electrified eastern half is operated by JR Central. Construction of the line started from both ends in 1919, but the difficult topography and wartime budget shortages delayed completion of the last section near Owase until 1959.
